Strategies for Achieving the English Education Study Program Objectives
Broadly, the strategies for achieving the scholarly vision and objectives of the English Education Study Program can be outlined through the following stages:
- Equipping students with competencies relevant to the graduate profile in the form of integrated graduate learning outcomes encompassing aspects of attitude, knowledge, and skills. These GLOs are articulated in the 2023 Curriculum of the English Education Study Program and elaborated in the semester learning plans.
- Implementing learning or lectures that can realise the formulated GLOs contained in the curriculum, whether in the form of guided learning (face-to-face in the classroom), structured assignments, or independent learning.
- Conducting learning assessments (especially summative assessments or assessment of learning) that can measure the achievement of GLOs after they have been realised through learning or lectures.
- Encouraging and involving students in various activities that can develop their academic and personal competencies, such as research mentoring after theory courses, mentoring and training in writing research articles, participation in guest lectures/expert talks, presentations at international conferences/seminars, and publications in reputable national or international journals. In some activities, students are also actively involved as event organisers.
- Enhancing the quality of lecturers through continuous professional development activities, such as pursuing doctoral studies, reading relevant and up-to-date references, participating in various scientific activities (such as conferences, seminars, and focus group discussions), and conducting research relevant to their expertise, involving students.
- Providing educational facilities and infrastructure that enable learning or lectures to run well, such as comfortable lecture and discussion rooms, strong wifi/internet bandwidth, and e-journals.
